Three microfilms inspired by the lost work of influential women working during the silent film era.

This project pays homage to the forgotten, trailblazing women of the silent film period. The project is comprised of three microfilms; Cleopatra VII (1917 Cleopatra, starring Theda Bara); La Fée Aux Choux, Réinventée (First female director Alice Guy-Blaché’s 1896 ‘La Fée Aux Choux’); and Birth Controlled (Margaret Sanger’s 1917 documentary ‘Birth Control’ on the women campaigning for accessible birth control) Each film is a short reimagining of the lost original. Directed, Produced, Costumed, Prop Designed, and Cast by Gianna-Skye.
