MA Fashion Innovation

Charlotte Alderman

Charlotte holds a BA (Hons) in Fashion Communication and has a lifelong passion for vintage aesthetics and 1960s style.

Her MA in Fashion Innovation & Realisation has enabled her to explore individual expression and accessible, slow fashion through the development of her own rental platform.
Motivated by growing concerns around fashion’s environmental impact and shifting consumer attitudes toward sustainability and affordability, Charlotte’s experience working with the fashion rental company LOANHOOD during her BA gave her the insight and drive to take this concept further — creating a unique, forward-thinking platform that redefines how we engage with fashion.

Curated by Charl is an online-only fashion rental platform designed to make fashion feel fresh, expressive, and circular — without the guilt or excess cost. Its mission is to revive iconic style through a modern lens, offering curated pieces that empower individuals to dress with both character and conscience.

Championing slower fashion and louder self-expression, Curated by Charl curates statement looks that resist trends, celebrate individuality, and challenge throwaway culture.

More than a clothing rail, the platform acts as a dynamic content hub and community space — featuring real users, style references, editorial stories, playlists, polls, and behind-the-scenes content. It encourages sharing, discovery, and dialogue around personal style and fashion history.

By blending fashion, culture, and community, Curated by Charl reimagines rental as a lifestyle — a place to express yourself sustainably, creatively, and without compromise.
