SYNOPSIS
In a dystopian future there exists Eidolon, advanced humanoid machines capable of mimicking humans. Society's job markets are monopolized by them, and there is only one higher power who controls them, known as the WHITE LIGHT, a being of unknown origin that is represented as a giant ball of light. Local politician MATT SKINNER is introduced as someone fighting for human rights, which poses a problem for White Light, so they set THE HUNTER off on his mission. After killing RICHIE and reporting his mission status he is told to assassinate Matt. Matt returns home in his car and The Hunter watches this from across the street, entering his home stealthily. Matt leaves, unaware of The Hunter's pursuit, however his mission continues when he taps into nearby CCTV cameras in order to track Matt's location. He sees that Matt had stopped by the church and hides in the back seat of his car parked outside, preparing to make a move on him when he returns. On his return, Matt is swiftly killed by The Hunter, the mission being a success, or so he thought. After searching through Matt's belongings, he finds that although this was a man of the same name, it was not the target that he was set out to kill. Upon informing White Light of this information, they tell The Hunter that the mission was a success and to return to base. Confused and disoriented, The Hunter's mind begins to break, he begins to see visions of Matt talking to him as he is swept through Scenes of his Own memories, reliving the assassination in a painful loop. The White Light now regards The Hunter as rogue and orders he be destroyed. During his mental break we see The Hunter fade into a field.
