Family Heirloom
My practice explores the challenges of living with a disability as a woman. I primarily use traditionally feminine household crafts, such as sewing and quilting, as a foundation for my work. These mediums reflect gendered expectations and connect to the idea of inheritance: just as handmade blankets are passed down through generations, so too can disability be inherited, like a thread running through a family line.
