Etain O’Donovan

An Phoblacht Againn

Etain O'Donovan is a visual artist whose work combines oil painting and text-based prints to explore concepts of Irish identity politics, stereotypes, and the expatriate experience. O’Donovan’s practice scrutinises the harmful historical rhetoric and modern ignorance of Irish culture which she reconstrues into satirical, comedic pieces. These works challenge the stereotypes associated with Irish people while also shedding light on key moments in Irish history.
