Freya Rowe
Freya Rowe is a visual artist whose practice weaves together traditional craft and contemporary printmaking to explore themes of process, symbolism, and memory. Rooted in a hands-on, intuitive approach, her work reimagines historic methods, such as batik and weaving, within modern art contexts. Her work embraces imperfection, honouring the tactile nature of making by hand. Often suspended, her work invites viewers to engage with craft in more contemporary ways. Inspired by her time in Indonesia, Rowe challenges conventional boundaries between art and craft, offering a renewed perspective on the value of the handmade in contemporary art.
