Josh Forde

Joshua Forde is a portraiture-based artist who primarily works with charcoal and acrylic paint. Forde’s work is a mix of realism and abstraction. Forde’s drawings are closer to realism however, his paintings are more abstract and closer to expressionism in the manner he applies paint. Forde uses very fragmented brushstrokes that build his paintings, he uses very thick impasto on the lightest areas of his paintings. Forde’s paintings are primarily focused on his relationship with the subject and the feelings he has towards them.
