Oak Luca Mclaughlin Barnett

Existing in the in-between; in gender, in lucidity, in movement and staticism –liminal– oak luca is a london-born, irish artist whose work is rooted in the tension and in the letting go. Their art traces through themes of what it means to exist in a queer body, through a neurodivergent mind, with the idea of the 'self' and where that begins and ends across the spectrum of identity, experience, and dialogue. They are interested in using form, colour, suspension and texture to explore, express and expunge these ideas.

BALANCE is a culmination of two years of artistic growth. It is an investigation into 'THE FLOATING AND THE GROUNDING'. It is a soliloquy.
