Phoebe Walton
These sea shells. Are more like. Home.
Phoebe Walton’s practice aims to comment on ideologies of home comforts and childhood upbringing, by recreating individual elements of a stage set. This is often shown through textile or dance mediums as these personally associate within the theatre industry. The imagery that she works with reveals her life story and artistic positioning due to geographical and cultural influences of her hometown Leicester. Walton allows her childhood to be revisited by audiences through symbols such as shells and family photographs that capture significant moments in time.
