SYNOPSIS
Voices of the Shared Shores is a short documentary film which follows the lives and experiences of three different members of Liverpool’s Irish Choir. Each member has their own unique experience of what being Irish in Liverpool means to them and how the choir has helped them keep alive their own sense of Irish identity whether they were originally born there or through their familial ties. Through interviews with Siobhán, Ronan, and Catherine, they go into detail about how the Irish choir and Liverpool as a city keep their Irish identity alive with Liverpool’s historic connection to Ireland and fondness towards Irish culture. Throughout the film we see the sense of community within the Irish choir as they rehearse for a Christmas carol performance with live Irish music, singing, and dancing. This feel-good documentary is for those who struggle with their identity and love hearing stories of communities coming together.
